Functions of the Committee

  • To counsel and guide SC/ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues of college life effectively.
  • To ensure provisions of an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
  • To provide prompt counseling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any event at the campus.
  • To provide the mechanism to redress the grievance of SC/ST students, if any.
  • To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the Constitution of India.
  • To arrange for special opportunities to enhance the career growth.
  • To aware the SC/ST students regarding various scholarship programs of State Govt., Central Govt., and AICTE.
  • The cell members must meet once in a semester, or when required with coordinator, and discuss the necessary action plan for the welfare of the students.

Minority Cell

Functions of the Cell

  • Minority Cell aims to resolve the problems of the minority students of the college.
  • It helps to identify financial resources and provide financial support from government and private agencies for education of Minority Students.
  • It helps to enhance career opportunities for Minority Students.
  • To collect reports and information of Government of Goa and UGC orders on various aspects of education and employment of minority students.
  • To publicize the various Central and State Government scholarship schemes and any updates in these matters.
  • To coordinate with other College Cells and Committees such as the Mentoring Cell, Placement Cell, Students Council, Sports Council, Cultural Council, etc. and ensure that students from minority communities participate in their activities.

Grievance and Redressal Committee

Functions of the Committee

  • To look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit.
  • To assure students that the grievance has been solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell.
  • To facilitate students with a genuine grievance approaching the department members in person, or in consultation with the mentor.
  • Keeping the parents informed about the attendance and performance of their wards from time to time and guiding the students to choose right career paths for jobs, higher studies, entrepreneurship etc., is the prime motto.
  • To monitor the student regularity and performance in each subject.
  • To ensure that the parents know about the performance and regularity.

Functions of the Committee

  • To build up a policy against sexual harassment of women at the Institute.
  • To create a permanent means for the deterrence and redressal of sexual harassment cases and other acts of gender-based violence at the Institute.
  • To make sure the execution of the policy through proper reporting of the complaints and their follow-up procedures.

Anti-ragging Committee

Functions of the Committee

  • Meets periodically to discuss important matters, incidences and UGC guidelines on Anti-Ragging.
  • Acts as a mediator between the Anti-Ragging squad, administration and the students.
  • Prevents incidences of ragging.
  • Educates students on the negativity of ragging and inculcates good values which help them refrain from such acts.
  • Monitor ragging activities in the Institution.
  • Helps maintain the ethos of the Institution, i.e. to make it a ragging-free campus.
  • Meets students in the students assembly and briefs them about the Institution stand about ragging.
  • Organize programmes to create awareness.
  • Gives heed to the recommendations of the Anti-Ragging Squad in the right perspective.
  • Takes all necessary measures for prevention of ragging inside the Campus/Hostels.
  • Considers the complaints received from the students, conducts enquiry and submits report along with punishment recommended for the offenders.
  • Publicizes to all students about the prevalent directives and the actions that can be taken against those indulging in ragging.
